Scotch tape test for Pinworm

This lady in her 30s presented  with the chief complaint of Itching in the peri-anal region bothering her at night. Things that can do this are typically Pinworms or scabies. Scabies would usually have a rash and also affects other areas. There was no rash in the area. She was asked to put the piece of scotchtape in the peri-anal area and leave it there overnight which is when the female pinworms come out to lay eggs around the anus. She was treated with Two doses of mebendazole 1 week apart. Although in an ID guide Albendazole was mentioned as the first choice, it is tough to find in the US.
